U.S. Army Successfully Combats Project Risks with Riskonnect’s Active Risk Manager

The U.S. Army, the oldest branch of the U.S. military with 450+ thousand active-duty personnel, faced increasingly complex, technical risks across more than 40 strategic defense programs managed by its Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space (PEO MS). Inconsistent risk capture and reporting, disparate spreadsheets and databases, and strict Department of Defense requirements made it difficult to standardize risk management and deliver critical systems on time and on spec.

To solve this, PEO MS adopted Riskonnect’s Active Risk Manager (ARM) nearly a decade ago, centralizing risk data in a single database with configurable dashboards and custom reports. Riskonnect’s solution scaled from one product office to all 10 PEOs, brought all projects into DoD compliance, enabled “reports at the touch of a button,” and improved leadership visibility and the organization’s ability to identify both threats and opportunities.
