Case Study: Transport for London achieves on-time, on-budget, and more predictable project delivery with Riskonnect

A Riskonnect Case Study

Preview of the Transport for London Case Study

Transport for London Keeps the City Moving with Riskonnect

Transport for London (TfL), the integrated transport authority that runs the London Underground, roads, bridges and more with 28,000 employees, manages hundreds of concurrent, high‑visibility projects under intense public and political scrutiny. With just 25 risk specialists, TfL needed to focus expert attention where it mattered most while enabling the wider organization to manage routine risks, so it turned to Riskonnect’s Project Risk Management software.

Riskonnect provided a customizable, user‑friendly platform for consistent risk registers, project risk scoring, Monte Carlo simulation and integration with schedule tools, enabling TfL to classify work into “light touch” and “enhanced touch” streams (enhanced typically for projects above £15 million). By feeding historical project data into Riskonnect, TfL improved estimate accuracy, predictability and a culture of risk thinking—contributing to successful, measurable outcomes such as the Jubilee line extension and a Northern line extension completed ahead of schedule and below budget.
