A Riskonnect Case Study
The State of Utah Division of Risk Management (DRM) oversees coverage for thousands of buildings, vehicles and employees and manages over $28 billion in property. DRM was hampered by siloed processes, legacy RMIS and spreadsheet-based workflows that made renewals, billing, claims administration and reporting slow, manual and error-prone. To modernize, the State engaged Riskonnect and its risk management work platform (RMIS) to centralize databases, automate workflows and provide full mobile access.
Riskonnect replaced the legacy claim system with a central RMIS and implemented integrations with the State financial system, Attorney General, DFCM, fleet, workers’ comp and more, plus automated renewals and certificates. The deployment delivered strong user adoption, eliminated many manual processes and double-entry, improved reporting and analytics, and produced measurable savings: recovery of $1 million in cumulative premium underbilling; $22,100 cost savings and an 82% improvement in high-dollar payment processing (17.1 → 1 day); $7,200 and 93% faster Attorney General bill payments (29.3 → 2 days); and $4,420 plus elimination of five weekly reconciliation hours—totaling well over $1 million in annual savings attributed to Riskonnect.
