Large State School District, a state public education system with over 500 locations, more than 157,000 students and nearly 20,000 employees, was hampered by a legacy risk management system and spreadsheets that were clunky, unintuitive and required programming skills to run reports. The district self-administers claims with heavily manual workflows, and adjusters were completing the required Plan of Action (POA) only 30% of the time. To modernize reporting and automate claims administration, the district selected Riskonnect’s risk management work platform.

Riskonnect delivered a fully configured platform with a drag-and-drop ad hoc report wizard, a secure incident intake portal, configurable workflows (including automated scheduling of indemnity payments and third‑party distributions) and a POA object that triggers tasks and reminder escalations. Early results from the Riskonnect implementation include integrated self-administration across adjusters and nurse case managers, improved data accuracy through field validations and removal of copy/paste, reliable state reporting via the portal, and reduced payment errors — improvements already noted by Adjusters and supervisors.
