How the Queensland Department of Education transformed their reporting capabilities and decision making with a single view of risk

Queensland Department of Education needed a better way to manage risk and compliance across more than 1,200 work sites in Queensland, with over 85,000 employees and a growing number of complex risks. Its existing spreadsheet-based process could not support the department’s newer risk management framework or help senior leaders interpret risk values, tolerances, trends, and reporting needs.

The department selected Riskonnect’s Active Risk Manager to give central and regional teams a shared, cloud-based view of risk. The solution helped staff visualize risks, document controls and actions, and produce compliance reports for senior management and the Executive Management Board. Queensland Department of Education said Riskonnect improved reporting and decision making, and helped identify that 39% of schools in one rural area had workplace health and safety or non-compliance issues.
