How Roche raised the profile of risk management throughout their organization and introduced a common language when discussing risk

Roche, a Switzerland-based healthcare company with 101,200 employees, needed a practical way to consolidate risk information across its global business. In 2007, the company created a new Group Risk Management function because different business units were using a variety of tools and processes, and it wanted a common platform that could support local working practices as well as enterprise risk and project risk.

Riskonnect’s Project Risk Manager was selected as Roche’s global corporate risk management solution and implemented across the group. The system helped Roche centralize risk information, use a common language and scoring criteria, and improve visibility of its global risk profile, while also supporting alerts, reporting, retrospective analysis, and reassessment of risks as new information emerged. Roche said the platform helped raise the profile of risk management throughout the organization and support better business decisions.
