Case Study: Leica Camera AG achieves resilient, transparent supply chains with riskmethods

A riskmethods Case Study

Preview of the Leica Case Study

Leica - Customer Case Study

Leica Camera AG, the premium-segment camera and optics manufacturer, faced major supply-chain vulnerabilities after floods in Thailand and the earthquake in Japan and needed to reduce manual effort, automate information procurement, establish early warnings, and monitor risks through to second-tier suppliers. To address this, Leica engaged riskmethods and deployed services including riskmethods' Risk Radar, Supply Chain Identification Service and Risk Intelligence capabilities to embed risk management into sourcing and supplier management.

riskmethods provided interactive supply-chain visualization, an automated early-warning system, a risk scorecard (covering 80+ indicators) and the Supply Chain Identification Service plus Impact Analyzer to assess financial criticality. As a result Leica now monitors all direct suppliers in riskmethods' platform, gained transparency into sub-suppliers and dependencies, identified several strategic suppliers with replacement lead times of at least 12 months, and uses early warnings and action plans to prevent disruptions and safeguard production and quality.
