Case Study: Industrial Company reduces ransomware exposure with RiskLens

A RiskLens Case Study

Preview of the Industrial Company Case Study

Industrial Company Assesses Ransomware Threat

Industrial Company worked with RiskLens to assess the growing ransomware threat as an emerging risk issue. The company needed a way to understand how much risk ransomware posed to workstations and mapped shared drives, and how that risk could affect business availability.

Using RiskLens’s FAIR-based quantitative risk analysis, the company modeled incident frequency, impact per event, and aggregate loss exposure, with a focus on ransomware spreading from workstations to shared drives. RiskLens found the current-state average loss exposure was about $678K, and improving shared drive access privileges could reduce average loss exposure to about $265K — an approximate reduction of $413K.
