Lorna Jane strengthens authorization rates with Riskified

Lorna Jane, the Australia-based activewear retailer, needed to raise authorization rates without increasing fraud or chargebacks, especially under strict AusPayNet thresholds. Its existing risk-scoring approach was creating false declines, customer friction, and heavy manual review, while chargebacks were a growing concern. Lorna Jane turned to Riskified, using its pre-authorization fraud prevention and screening solution on Shopify.

Riskified helped Lorna Jane approve more good orders and block bad ones before authorization, delivering immediate improvements. Authorization rates rose from about 82% to 95%–98%, chargebacks were reduced by 98%, the cost of fraud fell by 54%, and gift card chargebacks dropped to 0%. Riskified also cut manual review work and improved the customer experience, helping Lorna Jane boost conversions and stay well clear of AusPayNet radar.
