University of Toronto Mississauga - Customer Case Study

The University of Toronto Mississauga’s Li Koon Chun Finance Learning Centre, a state-of-the-art facility inside the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre, needed a cutting-edge digital communication solution to serve students, faculty and visitors and to showcase real-time market data. Located in the library and used for finance and international business courses as well as public programming, the Centre required integration with existing Sharp LCD screens, a remote media player nearly 1,000 feet away, and an innovative LED stock ticker (noted as Canada’s first eight-color ticker).

Rise designed and delivered the full digital signage solution: a custom media player and video distribution system, LED ticker hardware, and market-focused content (market news, North American exchange quotes, indices and a live Business News Network feed). The displays and ticker were installed for the Fall 2008 ribbon-cutting, are visible from the library windows, run closing prices and sports scores after hours, and have been very favorably received by students, staff and visitors.
