Harvest Home triples its impact with RIOS, adding 17 beds and 25% more resources

Harvest Home, an organization providing housing and educational programs for homeless expectant mothers, sought to expand its capacity to serve more women in Los Angeles. The challenge was to renovate a second property, a former Catholic convent, into a welcoming and supportive home that would help these mothers flourish. RIOS provided pro-bono architecture and interior architecture services for this project.

RIOS created a modest and comfortable interior remodel with budget-conscious solutions, a calming color palette, and simple modern fixtures. The design transformed the building into a transitional environment with shared areas oriented around a central garden. The solution increased Harvest Home's capacity by adding 17 beds, which tripled the organization's impact and provided 25% more resources for homeless expectant mothers in the entire county.
