Walker Crips Customises RingCentral to Comply with Industry Regulations Regarding Call Recording

Walker Crips, a London-based financial services firm founded in 1914 with roughly 280–300 employees across investment, brokerage and wealth units, faced a costly, inflexible on‑premises phone system and needed to meet strict industry requirements for call recording and retrieval. The firm wanted more functionality at lower total cost while maintaining regulatory compliance and better support for mobile and remote work.

Walker Crips chose RingCentral’s fully cloud UCaaS and worked with RingCentral engineers via an API beta to automate daily downloads of call recordings to their storage array and build a searchable, CRM‑integrated retrieval tool using RingCentral call reference data. The move reduced capex, lowered operating costs, eliminated some third‑party support, centralized compliant recording, and enabled staff to work more efficiently from anywhere.
