Virtual K–12 School Improves Staff Mobility and Teacher-Student Communications Thanks to RingCentral

Greenfield Commonwealth Virtual School (GCVS) is a Massachusetts-based virtual K–12 school that runs a structured day of live online classes and employs staff statewide. Because teachers and counselors work remotely and often visit students offsite, the school needed reliable, mobile communications. Their previous PBX software was clunky, had poor call quality and dropped calls, and didn’t let staff use work numbers on personal devices or easily manage voicemails and analytics.

GCVS implemented RingCentral MVP after a successful proof of concept, gaining SMS, a mobile app, direct numbers, digital faxing, and reporting. The new system delivered noticeably better call quality, simple administration, and true mobility—teachers can text students from work numbers and field staff are reachable anywhere. Implementation was straightforward, analytics made system health easy to monitor, and the school reports significantly improved communications and satisfaction.
