San Antonio Zoo Empowers Mobile Staff with UCaaS Solutions

San Antonio Zoo, a 450-employee nonprofit operating across 56 acres and serving over a million visitors annually, needed a more flexible communications system as it built the new Will Smith Zoo School. The organization struggled with limited analog lines, billing headaches, a problematic VoIP rollout, and restrictive free conferencing tools—challenges that left mobile staff and donor-facing teams at risk of missing important calls.

The zoo deployed RingCentral Phone and RingCentral MVP to give staff direct inward-dial (DID) numbers on mobile devices, internet faxing, and reliable meetings and video conferencing. Preconfigured phones, intuitive administration, and consolidated billing reduced IT overhead and per-user cost, while improved meeting tools and mobile alerts increased professionalism and ensured staff stay connected—resulting in smoother operations and stronger donor and partner engagement.
