A RingCentral Case Study
Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) is a regional education agency serving roughly half a million students across King and Pierce counties. With 400 employees spread across offices, schools, and field locations, the agency faced a fractured telephony environment—multiple aging on‑prem systems, disparate landlines and staff using personal cell numbers—that undermined collaboration and continuity of care, especially as one on‑prem system neared end‑of‑life and COVID‑19 forced rapid remote work.
PSESD migrated to RingCentral MVP (Message, Video, Phone), consolidating communications into a single cloud platform with softphone and mobile apps, four‑digit dialing, secure messaging and video conferencing. The move enabled an immediate shift to remote work, kept services like special‑needs ReLife education running via video, centralized staff numbers so families retain access when employees leave, and improved collaboration and reliability across the agency.
