PlanOmatic Uses RingCentral Messaging APIs to Make Sure Photographers Get the Picture

PlanOmatic, a Denver-based provider of real estate photography, floor plans, and virtual tours, needed a more reliable way to get contract photographers to the right property at the right time—emails were routinely overlooked and led to missed or delayed appointments. With photographers working nationwide and using a mobile app for schedules, PlanOmatic required timely, concise alerts that would be seen immediately in the field.

The team built a notifications system using RingCentral messaging APIs (implemented in Ruby on Rails with the Ruby SDK) that sends automated push notifications via RingCentral Paging to photographers’ extensions and SMS for other alerts. They also created an internal notifications API so other systems can trigger messages. The result: dramatically fewer missed appointments and faster responses—acceptance rates rose from about 60–70% to roughly 95%—and improved operational visibility through RingCentral reporting.
