A RingCentral Case Study
Northbrook Public Library, a century-old public library serving about 33,000 residents with a staff of 120, found its aging on‑premises PBX phone system at end-of-life. The outdated telephony made it difficult to manage high-volume program registrations, track calls or retrieve voicemail, and limited the library’s ability to support modern services and staff training.
After upgrading inbound fiber and building cabling, Northbrook deployed RingCentral’s cloud communications platform to replace the legacy PBX. The cloud solution unified voice, meetings and management tools, enabled call tracking and seamless event registration, and let staff work from home during the pandemic with virtual meetings and webinars—resulting in higher productivity, easier administration and a more flexible, modern service for the community.
