New York Genome Center Uninterrupted by Hurricane Sandy with RingCentral

New York Genome Center (NYGC) is a nonprofit genomics research organization dedicated to advancing DNA-based diagnostics and treatments. With about 35 staff spread across a Manhattan HQ, a pilot lab, a construction site and multiple remote offices, NYGC faced fragmented communications: employees used personal cell numbers, calls couldn’t be transferred, and outside callers didn’t know which number to use.

RingCentral provided a cloud-based phone system and hosted toll-free number that staff can use on office or mobile devices and manage from any PC with minimal IT setup. The result was reliable, centralized calling and simple user management, plus business continuity during Hurricane Sandy when calls were forwarded to unaffected locations; staff gained voicemail-to-email, mobile app access, and a cost-effective, plug-and-play solution.
