Helping People Find Legal Services During COVID-19

RingCentral partnered with the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division to address a surge in pandemic-related legal needs—unemployment, labor disputes, paused court cases and other issues—that extend well beyond local disaster zones. Building on prior work helping earthquake and tornado survivors, the organizations needed a way to scale access to legal help nationwide during COVID-19.

They launched a toll‑free national hotline using RingCentral Contact Center, with bilingual prompts and menu routing that directs callers to their state Disaster Legal Services teams. The system connected many people to legal assistance, reduced administrative burden for federal, state and local partners, and continues to expand as new state hotlines come online; RingCentral also provided free communications tools to other essential organizations during the pandemic.
