Children’s Social Services Facility earns Platinum LEED certification with Rimkus

The children's social services facility engaged Rimkus to provide sustainability consulting for their new, large building. Their challenge was to incorporate energy efficiency and sustainable design features to achieve the highest possible LEED certification, but to do so without creating an undue financial burden.

Rimkus worked closely with the owner and design team to develop cost-effective strategies. The solution included installing photovoltaic solar panels on the entire roof, redesigning the building for greater energy efficiency, and adding educational features like a see-through wall panel and an interactive touchscreen monitor. As a result of Rimkus's efforts, the facility successfully achieved Platinum LEED certification, the highest level possible.
