Buckeye Partners, a large U.S. energy pipeline operator, needed to reduce manual IT service management work and improve audit readiness. Before the project, incident, request, change, and user access processes were handled with inconsistent, paper- and email-based steps that made compliance reporting slow and difficult. RightStar Systems helped Buckeye evaluate and implement BMC Remedyforce, the cloud-based IT service management platform from BMC.

With RightStar Systems’ guidance, Buckeye Partners automated incident, problem, change, and access management in BMC Remedyforce and centralized data capture, approvals, dashboards, and reporting. The result was major time savings and stronger compliance: audit preparation for user access dropped from as much as 50 staff hours twice a year to about one hour per request set, change reporting became easier, and SLA performance improved from about 65% to 80%.
