Anne Arundel County Public Schools - Customer Case Study

Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS), one of the 50 largest school systems in the U.S., needed to modernize its IT service management environment while supporting 79,000 students and more than 13,850 employees with just 92 IT staff. After using BMC Remedy since 1999, AACPS wanted to upgrade to Remedy ITSM 9.1 with Smart IT and Smart Reporting, expand self-service adoption, and make it easier for the help desk to support users from anywhere.

RightStar Systems implemented the Remedy ITSM 9.1 upgrade, migrating custom forms and data from the legacy environment and completing the project ahead of schedule. RightStar also installed and configured Smart Reporting, while AACPS gained a mobile, intuitive service experience through Smart IT. The result was faster reporting, easier remote support, and significant time savings—such as quickly pulling inventory totals instead of manually emailing techs and adding counts by hand.
