High Valley Transit - Customer Case Study

High Valley Transit, a new rural transit agency serving Summit and Wasatch counties in Utah, needed a way to make car-free travel practical across a mountainous, spread-out region. Working with Via, they used a multimodal rider app and mode-assignment logic to coordinate fixed-route service, microtransit, and paratransit.

Via implemented an integrated transit system that directs riders to the best option for each trip, including intermodal trips that combine fixed-route and microtransit and commingled paratransit and microtransit service. The results included 47% year-over-year growth in fixed-route ridership, a 60% improvement in paratransit efficiency, and 75% of trip requests receiving a fixed-route or intermodal proposal.
