Via launched an on-demand microtransit pilot with free shared rides for employees, using a modest fleet and curb-to-curb routing to keep trips efficient. The service delivered 34,000 rides across both locations, helped cut single-occupancy vehicle trips to the Sunnyvale campus by 13%, and saw strong adoption with 7,537 rides in the first three months in Silicon Valley and 15,000 rides in Waterloo in the first eight months.
