City of Chandler expands access with Via and 100,000 rides

The City of Chandler aimed to expand access to its limited fixed-route transit network and increase student transportation options. To address this challenge, the city partnered with vendor Via to deploy a flexible microtransit solution.

Powered by Via’s proprietary algorithm, the solution was a dynamically routed, on-demand service named Chandler Flex. The service provided point-to-point trips booked via a mobile app or support line. The results were significant, with over 100,000 rides completed since launch. The service achieved a strong measurable impact, as 51% of riders lacked access to a personal car and over 3,000 wheelchair-accessible rides were provided.
