Renault-Nissan, through its Renault-Nissan Purchasing Organisation, needed to rationalize a fragmented print environment, simplify administration, improve sustainability, and reduce print spending across its global operations. Ricoh International was brought in as a global supply chain partner to deliver Managed Document Services and a more consistent, service-based document infrastructure.

Ricoh International implemented a standardized but locally adapted print-as-a-service model with global account management, on-site support, and monitored multifunction devices. The rollout replaced more than 5,000 legacy devices with 3,000 printers and MFPs, cut print expenditure by more than 50% in Renault-Nissan’s French operation, reduced device counts by 40%, and delivered an estimated 535,000 kW energy saving; the solution has since been deployed in 8 regions with 12 more in scope.
