Açoreana Seguros, a Portuguese insurance company, was struggling with a fragmented fleet of fax machines, printers, scanners, and photocopiers that made document handling difficult, raised IT support demands, and drove up print costs. Ricoh International was brought in to provide an integrated Managed Document Services solution, including Ricoh multifunctional products and workflow software, to improve control over inbound and outbound communications.

Ricoh International implemented automated fax distribution, digital document capture and archiving, intelligent print rules, IP faxing, and remote fleet monitoring through @Remote. The result was a simpler, more efficient print environment, with more than 400 legacy devices replaced by just over 100 Ricoh devices, a 65% reduction in fleet size, and an expected 30% annual reduction in document management costs.
