Fabric of Onehunga wins 2 Best Awards with Richards Partners

Richards Partners was engaged by developers Lamont and Co and Colliers International to create a precinct brand for Fabric of Onehunga, a new residential development on a brownfields site in Auckland. The challenge was to devise a compelling brand story for the multi-building project that would resonate over an extended sales period and contribute positively to the cultural fabric of the old suburb.

The solution from Richards Partners included a comprehensive brand strategy, story, and identity design. The name FABRIC was drawn from the site's history as a clothing factory, and the unique design system featured bespoke typography with hyphens resembling threads. This identity was applied across a website, show suite, and social media campaign. The work was highly successful, earning Silver and Bronze Best Awards in 2017 for categories including Brand Identity, Design Communication, and Typography.
