Workday Recruiting, a major enterprise using the Workday ATS, sought to integrate AI agents into its hiring pipeline to automate tasks like candidate screening and stage transitions. The challenge was that Workday's complex API made it difficult for AI agents to access and manipulate recruiting data directly, requiring extensive custom integration work. They partnered with Ribbon to utilize its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server.

Ribbon implemented its MCP server to give AI agents live, structured access to Workday Recruiting data through simple tools, eliminating the need for custom integration. The solution included both read tools for pulling candidate and job data and a write function that creates a native `ribbonInterview` custom object in Workday to store interview scores and transcripts. This allowed recruiters to automate screening workflows entirely within their ATS, saving them hours of manual work per day and providing a seamless, native experience without toggling between systems.
