A Ribbon Communications Case Study

Bell Canada - Customer Case Study

Bell Canada, Canada’s largest communications service provider, needed to modernize an aging legacy voice network made up of hundreds of DMS systems across the country. Its traditional POTS services were becoming increasingly unreliable and costly to operate, while Bell also wanted to expand its offering with carrier-grade voice and unified communications services. Bell chose Ribbon Communications and its C20, G6, and G9 solutions to support the transition.

Ribbon Communications implemented a fixed network transformation that consolidated legacy gear, rehomed services to the C20 platform, and moved Bell to an all-IP architecture with geo-redundant carrier-grade voice capabilities. The result was a simpler migration from 320 DMS systems, lower operating costs, improved reliability, and the ability for Bell to offer all-IP voice plus UC services such as collaboration, instant messaging, and presence directly to customers.
