Origin Alliance – RIB CostX Software Goes Motorway

The Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland established the Origin Alliance to deliver the Ipswich Motorway Upgrade and faced the challenge of producing quantities from 12D road design files, a format not traditionally used for measurement. To support its goal of producing all future tender documents electronically, the department's alliance used RIB Software's CostX product.

RIB Software undertook considerable development to enable its CostX software to read and measure directly from the 12D design files. This pioneering application on a major Australian infrastructure project provided increased accuracy and efficiency in the measurement process, eliminating traditional scope creep and successfully supporting the delivery of the A$1.95 billion project.
