Auric Systems International, a Level 1 PCI DSS validated service provider and payment-software developer, needed to move a client’s PaymentVault out of their corporate environment while keeping backend availability and reducing the cost and operational burden of database replication. To increase developer flexibility and avoid complex primary/secondary failover management, Auric evaluated and selected Riak KV Enterprise Software from Riak.

Auric implemented Riak KV Enterprise Software, a distributed NoSQL database that provides transparent, automatic replication, an HTTP interface for standard tooling, and built‑in features like automatic card aging. Using Riak, Auric tokenized more than 2 million credit cards for six clients and completed the cutover in just 1.5 hours, improving throughput, eliminating custom replication code and periodic checks, and simplifying load‑balanced deployments.
