JouKou is a New Zealand–based iPaaS provider that delivers rapid, low-cost integration, API publishing, and analytics for cloud and on-premise endpoints. Faced with customers running custom relational databases that lacked scalability, flexibility, and had high implementation costs, JouKou needed a globally available, low-latency datastore to scale on demand and keep operational costs down. They selected Riak (Riak KV) to meet those needs.

JouKou implemented Riak KV as its distributed JSON datastore to power the JouKou RESTful API, the JouKou Flow integration engine, and to persist RabbitMQ messages for auditability and replay. Deploying Riak across multiple clusters on commodity hardware delivered high resilience and data redundancy, massive scalability, faster time-to-market, and lower development and operational costs—allowing JouKou to provide consistent, low-latency integration services worldwide.
