A Rhinogram Case Study
Oklahoma State University Stillwater’s Counseling and Counseling Psychology Program was running a text-based mental-health intervention for transgender and nonbinary individuals, but the first version of the program was highly manual, relying on multiple spreadsheets and Google Voice to manage participants, track progress, and field messages. The team also struggled with limited texting capacity, lack of centralized management, and the burden of responding to multiple participants at once.
Rhinogram provided a HIPAA-compliant text messaging platform that centralized participant tracking, automated screening and follow-up messages, and made it easier for students and researchers to work as a team across protocol stages. With Rhinogram, the program exchanged more than 6,000 messages in five months, supported a single research assistant sending an average of 97 complex messages per hour, and saved about 4 hours per week, while also improving organization and participant engagement.
