The Cleveland Guardians faced the challenge of managing used furniture and equipment during a major ballpark renovation at Progressive Field, with a goal of diverting these materials from the landfill. They partnered with the vendor Rheaply and utilized its Ohio Materials Marketplace platform to facilitate the reuse of these assets within the local community.

Rheaply's solution connected the Guardians with a network of local partners to redistribute the inventory. This resulted in 1,400 pieces of office furniture, totaling over 75,000 pounds, being donated to 23 area nonprofits. The project achieved a 100% landfill diversion rate for these materials, creating significant sustainable social impact while providing valuable resources to local organizations.
