Tubelite, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of architectural aluminum products, was facing frequent order mistakes and poor inventory visibility because many parts look very similar. To address this, Tubelite selected RFgen Software’s RFgen Mobile Foundations for Oracle’s JD Edwards to automate mobile data collection across its Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 environment and improve picking and inventory processes.

RFgen Software developed and deployed customized mobile barcode applications for manufacturing, inventory management, receiving and sales order picking that integrate in real time with JD Edwards. The RFgen solution cut time spent searching for parts by about 50%, reduced picker downtime from 30% to 15% (saving ~$30,000/year), enabled fulfillment of more orders without adding pickers (avoiding roughly $300,000/year in labor), improved on-time delivery and reduced returns — all delivered under budget.
