A RFgen Software Case Study

RFgen reduces administrative overhead, improves accuracy and cuts cost

Lakeside Manufacturing, a supplier of stainless steel, aluminum and plastic mobile equipment, struggled with paper-based, manual receiving and inventory processes that slowed operations, increased costs, and caused data-entry errors. Their goals were to automate receiving, match incoming parts to purchase orders, implement a quality-check program, and reduce overhead — so they engaged RFgen Software to modernize receiving and inventory control.

RFgen Software deployed its RFgen software along with a portable Wyse terminal, wireless scanners and a label printer (integrated with their JD Edwards environment) so clerks could scan POs and line items, generate labels, enforce step-by-step quality checks and automatic holds/alerts, and send exception notifications. The RFgen Software solution cut parts receiving and packaging time by 5 hours per day (reducing administrative time from ~7 to ~2 hours), eliminated manual data-entry errors, enhanced inventory control, and reduced new-user training from two months to about 5 minutes, improving on‑time shipments and decision-making.
