Trident Seafoods, one of the nation’s largest seafood companies, faced location, weather and connectivity challenges at remote Alaskan plants and needed 24/7 mobile barcode scanning and data collection tightly integrated with its Oracle JD Edwards ERP. To solve this, Trident selected RFgen Software’s RFgen Mobile Foundations for JD Edwards to capture inventory and manufacturing transactions in an offline-capable mobile environment.

RFgen Software implemented a flexible, scalable mobile solution that imports .csv outputs from remote production systems, creates JD Edwards transactions (inventory transfers, work orders, order picks, pallet labels), and supports offline processing and license plating. The rollout gave Trident 24/7 availability, simplified scanning for 150+ users, enabled transfers across multiple plants, tripled transaction volume to about 1.2 million transactions per year, and expanded operations with minimal added expense.
