ON Semiconductor, a leading semiconductor wafer manufacturer, faced tight safety and compliance requirements for about 100 chemical products used on its Gresham, Oregon production lines. They needed point-of-use chemical validation, shelf-life controls and real-time transaction history integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite—capabilities their existing barcode system lacked. To solve this, ON Semiconductor selected RFgen Software and deployed RFgen Mobile Foundations for Oracle E-Business Suite.

RFgen Software delivered a customized mobile data-collection solution with barcode-based validation, bi-directional Oracle integration and online/high-availability/offline modes so technicians can transact even during network outages. The RFgen implementation enforces location, item, authorization and expiration checks before issue, removes items from on-hand inventory in real time, eliminates spreadsheet-based offline counts, reduces manual data entry and speeds transactions—providing accurate historic usage for robust forecasting and enabling automated reordering and improved inventory visibility.
