Blue Bell Creameries, a leading U.S. ice cream manufacturer, faced new challenges after upgrading to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12, including risks to ingredient traceability and compliance, unreliable handheld connectivity, multiple mobile OS requirements, and paper-based fixed-asset tracking. To resolve these issues, Blue Bell engaged RFgen Software and deployed RFgen Mobile Foundations for Oracle E-Business Suite.

RFgen Software implemented mobile barcoding across Receiving, Inventory, Manufacturing, Quality and Fixed Assets with offline-capable handhelds and real-time Oracle integration, restoring mobile data collection and enabling quick workflow customizations. The solution eliminated data drops, increased productivity and data accuracy (notably for cycle counts), significantly improved fixed-asset tracking—helping over 800 truck drivers manage assets at thousands of branch and customer sites—and reduced the time and cost to customize transactions.
