Antea Group International engineering and environmental consulting firm eliminates two weeks of data entry per month using real-time data collection with RFgen

Antea Group, an international environmental consulting firm, faced a paper-based drinking-water sampling process in which 20 field samplers collected 40,000–60,000 samples per year using quadruplicate handwritten forms. The manual system caused up to two-week delays in central data entry, frequent paperwork errors that led to about 400–600 annual sample rejections (95% due to paperwork), and weak chain-of-custody and on-site signature/receipt capture. To address this, Antea Group selected RFgen Software and its RFgen Mobile Foundations solution.

RFgen Software deployed RFgen Mobile Foundations on wireless tablets and portable printers so samplers see only eligible locations, select available samples, record measurements with built-in QC (e.g., valid pH ranges), capture electronic signatures, print receipts, and transmit data to the central database. The RFgen implementation improved sample-record accuracy and chain-of-custody, eliminated roughly two weeks per month of manual data-entry work, and greatly reduced the risk of paperwork-driven rejections and costly resampling.
