Delmaine Fine Foods, an Auckland-based manufacturer, importer and supplier to supermarkets and the food industry, consolidated its operations and sought greater supply chain automation to improve inventory accuracy. Facing complex batch-controlled products with varying shelf lives and customer shelf-life requirements, Delmaine turned to RF-SMART’s radio-frequency scanning technology to ensure their ERP could tell staff exactly what product and batch to pick and from where.

RF-SMART implemented real-time RF scanning so pickers update stock at the point of transaction, creating individual ownership and a culture shift in the warehouse. As a result, Delmaine’s ambient warehouse accuracy rose from about 95% to 99%, and a full chilled stock take showed a discrepancy of less than $2 on over $1 million of inventory; RF-SMART’s solution also reduced picking errors, customer credits and improved customer satisfaction.
