Dennen Steel, a U.S.-based steel stamping, welding and assembly manufacturer with three warehouses, faced limited visibility, manual data collection and no traceability across expanding operations. To modernize its supply chain, Dennen Steel implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 and selected RF-SMART as its Automated Data Collection (ADC) solution to integrate mobile scanning and workflows with AX.

RF-SMART delivered handheld ADC workflows (receiving, route card/report as finished, random and tag counts) tightly integrated with Dynamics AX, enabling real-time inventory updates, traceability through stamping and slitting processes, and a seamless roll-out to a new facility. As a result, Dennen Steel reported approximately a 30% increase in shop-floor productivity and reduced physical inventory reconciliation from about two weeks to two days.
