Alamo Group Reaps the Rewards of Mobile Combination

Alamo Group, a manufacturer and distributor of equipment for right-of-way maintenance and agriculture, faced inefficient, paper-based distribution processes that caused errors, delayed inventory visibility and hampered customer responsiveness. To gain real-time visibility and ERP integration, Alamo Group selected RF-SMART’s automated data collection solution paired with rugged Psion handheld devices.

RF-SMART integrated directly with Alamo’s JD Edwards system and was first deployed in a 250,000 sq. ft. DC and then rolled out to seven additional U.S. facilities (~150–160 users), with Alamo becoming self-sufficient in new deployments. The RF-SMART solution eliminated multi-day reporting delays by enabling real-time transactions, greatly improved inventory accuracy, streamlined picking/receiving/shipping processes, reduced errors and accelerated order fulfillment—delivering clear operational and customer-service benefits.
