A Revolution Analytics Case Study
Merck Research Laboratories faced the challenge of creating and comparing group sequential clinical trial designs without programming, a need that slowed drug development and added cost during the research process. To address this, Merck used Revolution Analytics’ gsDesign Explorer, a GUI built on the R-based gsDesign package to help statisticians explore adaptive trial designs more efficiently.
Revolution Analytics implemented gsDesign Explorer to simplify trial design analysis with intuitive, well-documented tools for generating summaries and visualizations. The result was faster data analysis and the ability to advance promising drugs sooner; Merck reported that appropriate futility analyses could save about $10 million per trial, and noted that gsDesign Explorer enabled a trial they otherwise could not have done.
