A Revolution Analytics Case Study
Michigan State University’s Department of Statistics and Probability needed a better way to support hundreds of researchers running analytics jobs on a mission-critical computing cluster. Before working with Revolution Analytics, jobs were scheduled manually, which created downtime, limited throughput, and made it hard to keep the cluster fully utilized.
Revolution Analytics implemented Revolution R Enterprise 5.0 and the R Productivity Environment on the Statistical Computing Cluster, adding automated job scheduling and major performance gains. The result was a 4x increase in jobs processed—more than 800 in a semester versus about 200 before—and a dramatic reduction in turnaround time, including one model dropping from 3.5 months to just over a week.
