Proto Labs, a leading online quick-turn manufacturer of custom parts, runs the Cool Idea! Award to grant design and prototyping services to promising product ideas. To manage incoming applications, track where applicants dropped off, and gather submission metadata, Proto Labs engaged Reviewr and used the Reviewr platform to centralize and monitor the award submissions and reviewer activity.

Reviewr’s platform captured full submission data (drop-off points, traffic source, applicant location) and supported a monthly review workflow that let reviewers give targeted feedback and authors resubmit improved entries. By using Reviewr, Proto Labs was able to iterate its marketing and submission process, maintain a steadily improving award program, and more effectively engage innovators—supporting an award initiative that has granted more than $600,000 in services since 2011 and up to $250,000 in services in 2014.
