Barcel, the snack-food subsidiary of Grupo Bimbo, needed a way to capture the incremental improvement ideas of frontline associates that their centralized innovation system missed. To engage workers and accelerate small, practical gains, Barcel adopted Rever’s digitized Kaizen/digital continuous improvement platform, using the phone app and website to make idea capture simple and fast.
Using Rever, Barcel launched the platform in March 2017 and within two months saw measurable results: 50% of submitted ideas were implemented, frontline teams drove reductions in popcorn waste and product variation, and leadership gained clear visibility into participation and impact. Rever’s solution boosted associate engagement and accountability, sped testing and adoption of initiatives, and will be rolled out across 200 plants in 32 countries.
