Zebra’s Transition to Subscription Model Drives Growth and Efficiency

Zebra Technologies, a leader in scanning, data capture and printing solutions, needed to pivot to a software-centric subscription model and faced challenges around flexible monetization, automated renewals, co-termination, service contract updates, customer insights and a simple self-service experience. To address these needs Zebra engaged Revenera and adopted its Software Monetization platform (including FlexNet Operations and FlexNet Embedded) to support entitlement management, licensing and integration with existing back-office workflows.

Revenera implemented a central entitlement back office, the Revenera Integration Framework, a customer self-service portal and electronic software delivery, replacing Zebra’s home-grown licensing and automating fulfillment. The result: simplified purchases, immediate secure access to new features, higher customer satisfaction and scalable monetization — e.g., ~150 devices licensed in about 5 minutes and 800 licenses deployed in 2 hours — with Revenera enabling Zebra’s standardized, subscription-based growth.
