Energy Transfer’s Regency Energy Partners needed a better way to manage budgeting and reporting across more than 100 departments. Using Excel caused version control problems, inconsistent formats, no central repository, and limited collaboration, making the budgeting process slow and hard to analyze. Revelwood helped address this with IBM Cognos TM1, a financial performance management solution.

Revelwood implemented TM1 in phases, built the models and cubes, trained Regency’s finance team and end users, and transferred knowledge so the company could maintain and expand the system internally. The result was a centralized budgeting platform with better transparency and more reliable data, plus drill-thru access to transaction detail. Regency reported an estimated 50% reduction in monthly budgeting man-hours and a much smoother variance process.
